Kevin Kohmann
Grand Prix Trainer, Kevin Kohmann joined the Diamante team in 2014. Kevin’s natural talent, years of experience and dedicated work ethic brought his name to the top of the list when Diamante was looking to expand their team.
DRIVING EXCELLENCE
Originally from Germany, Kevin grew up around horses. His talent was apparent from a very young age. Kevin’s success started with ponies, where in 2002, he won the pony regional championships. After that success, Kevin was regarded in Germany as a talented, young professional and recruited to the U.S. to work under top trainers. This move gave Kevin the opportunity to ride the more difficult horses and bring them along. It became apparent to everyone that Kevin could take even the most difficult horses and turn them around into successful and willing partners. During this time he also honed his teaching skills as well as accomplished goals of showing several horses at Grand Prix.
Diamante Farms’ horse, 9 year gelding Winchester, has been one of Kevin’s most recent success stories with over a 70% average at I2 and many scores reaching 70+% at the Grand Prix. He has also moved Melanie Pai’s horse Freistaat B up to Grand Prix this year with 1st place finishes with scores over 70%. Other top accomplishments include many podium placings in the CDI’s at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, FL and representing Germany in two nations cups.
Kevin’s students reveal his great coaching abilities by placing nationally and internationally; they have won championships titles and have won several FEI Gold medals!
Much like his riding, Kevin is able to see and push through any issues allowing students to progress quickly and to achieve goals to show successfully at top rated shows. Most recently his long time student, Natalie Pai, was Reserve Champion at Gladstone, NJ in the U25 Grand Prix Brentina Cup. Impressively, Natalie is also the youngest rider to ever show in the U25 and Small tour at these National Championships.
