Wellington, FL (April 20, 2016) – While keeping a track record of earning impressive show results and providing strong support to the dressage community, Diamante Farms has also been bringing something new to the scene lately. Diamante Farms head trainer and co-owner Devon Kane spent the winter season competing up-and-coming horses at the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, and her results show that these newer equine partners have what it takes to be the next show stoppers in major dressage arenas. Now that the winter show season has come to a close, Kane’s plans for the summer are as different and exciting as her new horses are.
Kane, who is based in Wellington, Florida, has spent the past several summers abroad, training with Olympic Gold Medalist Hubertus Schmidt in Germany and competing across Europe. This summer, Kane has chosen to instead focus on conducting clinics and showing her up-and-coming horses at top horse shows along the United States east coast. She’ll take out Sir Galanto, her 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion (Stedinger x De Niro), and Fischer and Jazz Diamante, six-year-old Oldenburg geldings, all who brought in the blue ribbons at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival this season.
“This was the first season in a very long time that Destiny has not been my center focus,” Kane said of her self-trained gelding who has helped her to impressive results around the globe. “It was very exciting and mind-opening for me to change focus to my new stallion, Sir Galanto, and the young horses this year. I was able to reach new goals for showing and really focus on the training and development of each horse. It was a very fun year showing the greener horses. Having a less stressful show schedule, I was also able to work with Robert Dover, Bo Jena, Christine Traurig, and Conrad Schumacher during the season. Taking advantage of this help and education has really benefitted my riding and teaching, and made the season that much more of a success. Season ended with happy students and clients, happy horses, and successful shows.”
Now that the Wellington winter show season has come to a close, Devon is busy competing in Tryon, North Carolina; Saugerties, New York; and at Dressage at Devon in Pennsylvania. The USDF Gold Medalist, who has conducted many well-received clinics in recent years, will also be sharing her experiences and skills in several clinics throughout the summer. Her first will be at Royal Oaks Equestrian Center in Foristell, Missouri, on April 30 – May 1. She is planning several more clinics throughout the summer and welcomes anyone interested in scheduling one to contact her at www.DiamanteFarms.com or call 561-307-2831.
Even while Diamante Farms, owned by Devon and her mother Terri Kane, is busy with new horses and different competition venues, the facility is still doing what it is known for best— which includes giving back to the dressage community in profound ways.
Diamante Farms is a proud founding sponsor of the 12-week Adequan Global Dressage Festival series. Diamante Farms is also the annual presenting sponsor of the CDI 5* competition at the show series, and the title sponsor of the Under 25 division throughout the entire series. Diamante Farms also served as one of the presenting sponsors of the Florida International Youth Dressage Championships held last month. Diamante is especially eager to support the young riders, since Devon came up through the ranks herself and was an NAJYRC Individual Gold Medalist and Team Bronze Medalist.
“Sponsors like Diamante Farms are vital to our sport,” said Bebe Davis, who won several Under 25 classes at the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival. She competed her new partner Equestricon’s Carrera, a 16-year-old Hungarian Warmblood, and is hoping to compete in Europe next. “I am so pleased with how this entire season went, and I am so grateful for sponsors like Diamante Farms for making this season possible. Without their support, we would not be able to be where we are today. I have been competing in Wellington since I was seven years old and I am 18 now; the growth of the sport is overwhelming and this is mainly because of sponsors. I am so grateful to Devon, Terri, and Diamante Farms for sponsoring the U25 division this year.”
