German-American Kevin Kohmann On Five Star Sweep Ocala’s World Equestrian Center Small Tour with 3 Victories

OCALA, Florida, April 18, 2021–German-American Kevin Kohmann and Five Star won the Intermediate 1 Freestyle Sunday for a sweep of the three Small Tour competitions at the inaugural World Equestrian Center CDI for 10 victories in 15 starts this year.

Kevin, based at Diamante Farms in Wellington, Florida and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion won the Int. 1 Freestyle with a score of 75.350% after taking the Prix St. Georges on 74.216% on Friday and Int. I with 73,267% Saturday.

Anna Marek of Dunnellon, Florida on Felissirana placed second in the Freestyle on 74.975% with Sarah Lockman of Murieta, California on Balia third on 73.983%.

Kevin and Five Star (Amazing Star x Jazz) were on Germany’s gold medal Nations Cup team in Wellington last month just days after being sworn in as an American citizen. He has declared his intention to ride under the Stars & Stripes but is awaiting his American passport.

Five Star was ridden by Kirsten Brouwer of the Netherlands to reserve six-year-old champion at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships. Kevin began competing the horse, now owned by Equitas LLC, at international Small Tour at Wellington last November to sweep the three competitions, and began this year with another sweep at the Global Dressage Festival in January.
