WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 25, 2019–Destiny, competed on U.S. Nations Cup teams in the U.S. and Europe by Devon Kane, has been leased to Micah Gabrielle Deligdish to ride for Israel with the goal of competing in the European Championships in Rotterdam this year.
Micah, 27 years old and based in Wellington, last month switched to ride for Israel. She plans to make her CDI debut on Destiny, a 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, at the Tryon, North Carolina Equestrian Center in mid-April.
Destiny, owned by the Kane family’s Diamante Farm in Wellington since 2008, was competed by Devon through America’s national levels to Grand Prix, including on Nations Cup teams at Wellington and in Falsterbo, Sweden in 2015. The pair worked with German Olympic team rider Hubertus Schmidt in Europe and Wellington.
Devon, 33, has made 28 CDI Big Tour starts on Destiny since 2014. The duo were U.S. Dressage Finals Grand Prix champion in 2014. In 2007, she rode her Douwe to the North American Young Rider Championship individual gold and led her team to bronze.
Micah returned to Florida after studying political journalism at American University in Washington, D.C. and set up her equestrian operation in Wellington where she is coached by the Wellington-based Australian Nicholas Fyffe.
Her family has close ties with Israel and she hopes to help develop a national team to compete at championships such as the Europeans which this year is scheduled for Rotterdam Aug. 19-25. She hopes to compete at other European shows before then.
She competed Santos, her 11-year-old Westfalen gelding at CDI1* Small Tour at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington earlier this month and is scheduled to compete in the Small Tour again this week to wrap up the 12-week Global winter circuit.
